1. Conformance Target
MavenPay aims for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across every surface a member, visitor, or operator interacts with: the marketing site at mavenpay.com, the consumer app, the business app, the mobile apps (iOS + Android), the concierge surfaces at mavenpayconcierge.com, transactional email, and downloadable PDF documents (invoices, receipts, statements).
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the conformance level adopted by EAA 2025, US ADA Title III, UK Equality Act 2010, the Accessible Canada Act, Canada AODA (Ontario), and Australia DDA. We do not adopt a lower conformance level for any single surface.
Where a surface temporarily falls short of Level AA we document the gap in the Known Exceptions section below and commit a remediation date. Falling short without a documented gap and date is treated as a defect.
2. How We Test
Every PR that touches a visitor-facing surface is checked against an internal accessibility audit running on Playwright + axe-core. Lighthouse Accessibility runs in CI; PRs failing the AA threshold cannot merge.
Manual screen-reader testing happens against VoiceOver (macOS + iOS), TalkBack (Android), NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), and Orca (Linux Gnome) across Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge before each release.
Keyboard-only navigation is verified end-to-end on every release — no critical task may require pointer input.
Color contrast minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for UI components) are enforced via design tokens; no surface may opt out.
3. Compatible Assistive Technology
MavenPay surfaces are tested with: VoiceOver (macOS 14+, iOS 17+), TalkBack (Android 12+), NVDA (current), JAWS (current), and Orca (current). Reading order, landmark navigation, form-error announcement, and OTP-digit announcement are verified per release.
Browser compatibility: latest two versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
4. Built-In Accessibility Features
Skip-to-main-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
Visible focus indicators on every interactive element (focus rings respect the brand palette; never stripped without replacement).
Respect for the OS-level prefers-reduced-motion preference — all transitions and animations neutralize when the user sets it.
Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, article, section, aside, footer) on every page so screen-reader users can jump between regions in one keystroke.
Form errors announced via aria-live regions; OTP inputs announce each digit; password fields announce visibility-toggle state.
Color contrast meets or exceeds AA across light, dark, and brand themes; no information conveyed by color alone.
All interactive targets meet the 44×44 CSS pixel minimum hit target (WCAG 2.5.5 Level AAA).
Time-limited interactions (OTP entry, signin session) offer extensions; auto-logout warns with at least 60 seconds remaining.
5. Known Exceptions
No documented gaps at the date of this statement. Known exceptions are tracked publicly in this section as they are identified; remediation dates are committed before listing.
6. Feedback and Complaints
If a MavenPay surface presents an accessibility barrier you cannot work around, contact our team — we treat accessibility reports as P1 issues. Email accessibility@mavenpay.com. We acknowledge within 2 business days and commit a fix or workaround within 10 business days for AA-level barriers.
For EU residents: under EAA 2025 you may also report unresolved accessibility complaints to the market surveillance authority of your Member State. Contact details for each Member State are published by the European Commission.
For UK residents: under the Equality Act 2010 you may also raise an unresolved complaint with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
For US residents: under ADA Title III you may file a complaint with the US Department of Justice. We will respond and remediate in good faith without requiring an ADA complaint to be filed first.
For Canadian residents: under the Accessible Canada Act + AODA you may contact the Accessibility Commissioner of Canada or, for Ontario residents, the AODA enforcement office.
7. Enforcement Procedure
EAA 2025 Article 14: Member States designate market surveillance authorities. If our response to your accessibility complaint is unsatisfactory, you may escalate to the authority of the Member State where the service was provided.
WCAG conformance audits are conducted by an independent third party annually. The most recent audit report is available on request from accessibility@mavenpay.com.
